Bird Species of the Fivebough Basin
1915 -2004

Located in the Riverina Region of New South Wales. The Lower Murrumbidgee has 279 bird species recorded of which 174 have been observed at Fivebough to date. 'Twenty five of the 174 Fivebough bird species are additional records since September 1, 1997 when rehabilitation and conservation management of the wetland commenced..

For visitor convenience four bird lists are provided; Waterbirds; Birds of Prey; Songbirds; and other Fivebough Birds. Those preferring one list, a complete Fivebough Basin bird list is present. The full bird list's sequence and taxonomy follow Christidis and Boles 1994.

The 2004 Observations list is updated each two week period with bird observations from regular weekly wetland monitoring surveys and observations contributed by visiting birders and others bird watching at Fivebough.

The Fivebough and Tuckerbil Wetlands Trust welcomes visitor observation records, as they assist with the wetland's monitoring and management.
